In the celebration of the 30th anniversary of EDSA People Power revolution on February 25, the two brand new FA-50 fighter jets of the Philippine Air Force will do a fly-over where the site of the event will take place. These two jets were acquired from South Korea just last November.

According to Col. Enrico Canaya, PAF spokesperson, said on Inquirer that,

“Our two FA-50 lead-in fighters will perform high-speed opener passes,”

These the same jets are those which are used to welcome and escort the President Aquino after his visit in the ASEAN-US assembly.

In the fly-over on February 25, it will be joined by 3 AgustaWestland AW-109 attack helicopters, three Bell UH-1D military utility helicopters, 3 Bell-412 utility helicopters and 15 SF-260 light military trainer jets.

Here’s a video showing one of the FA-50s passing over the skies of Metro Manila.

These FA-50s are part of the squadron jets (12) ordered from South Korea worth P18.9 billion. The other jets will be delivered hopefully by 2017.

Canaya also said that two UH-1H helicopters would be dropping flowers during the celebration.

During the celebration, President Benigno Aquino III will be the guest of honor of the 30th anniversary of the historic yet, controversial EDSA People Power Revolution on 1986.

This People Power revolution was done to overthrow Pres. Ferdinand Marcos from his position then being replaced by today’s President’s mother, President Corazon Aquino.

This is where the “Yellow Army” started. And the famous “L” hand sign that means, “Laban” or “fight!.” Many controversies still surround the EDSA People Power Revolution. Some say that it’s because of communism. Others say it’s the cry of the people to stop the regime of Marcos.

Now, what can you say about the EDSA People Power Revolution? Any ideas?
