Expert Warns: Here Is Why People Aging From 30’s To 40’s Should And Must Exercise.

Those who are on their 30’s and 40’s are most likely to sit down every morning and have some coffees while pursuing the whole day at work. But having less activities on this age line could have various effects not just to the body but also to the brain.

Experts warn that poor fitness especially to those in their 30s and 40s could end up with shrunken brains in their later life. The new study claims that surprising effect have been found out as the result for the people with low levels of physical fitness in their thirties and forties.

As we all know, poor fitness have direct effects to our body especially on our health condition—but none have been found out as surprising as this. Imagine seeing you brain to a smaller size after 20 years.

Dr. Nicole Spartano of Boston University School of Medicine said that they found a direct correlation in their study between poor fitness and brain volume decades later which indicates accelerated brain ageing.

In the study, they involved 1, 583 people with an average age of 40 without dementia or heart disease to a treadmill test. Along MRI brain scans, it took another two decades later to find out the results.

Along with this, the researchers also analyzed the results as they excluded the participants who had heart disease. They also excluded those who started taking beta blockers to control blood pressure and heart problems.

The report from the http://www.mirror.co.uk/ explained:

“The participants had an average estimated exercise capacity of 39 mL/kg/min, which is also known as peak VO2, or the maximum amount of oxygen the body is capable of using in one minute.

Exercise capacity was estimated using the length of time participants were able to exercise on the treadmill before their heart rate reached a certain level.

For every eight units lower a person performed on the treadmill test, their brain volume two decades later was smaller, equivalent to two years of accelerated brain ageing.

When the people with heart disease or those taking beta blockers were excluded, every eight units of lower physical performance was associated with reductions of brain volume equal to one year of accelerated brain ageing.”

The study also concluded that “people whose blood pressure and heart rate went up at a higher rate during exercise were more likely to have smaller brain volumes two decades later.”

The expert noted that poor physical fitness often contribute to higher blood pressure. Those who are not involved in physical activities are more likely to have low levels of heart rate.

Dr. Spartano implied that there is association of poor physical fitness to loss of brain volume although the study is observational.

“While not yet studied on a large scale, these results suggest that fitness in middle age may be particularly important for the many millions of people around the world who already have evidence of heart disease,” she added. Here are great ways to feed your brain:
