People in certain places in the world do multiplication in the same way. It is just a simple way and such a basic way of learning in school. In fact, multiplication is actually taught during elementary days. Though it’s really hard sometimes specially if it already involves large numbers. On that point, it’s already hard to do it mentally. That is where you need to get a piece of paper. It would be easier if you’ll just grab the calculator.
But did you know that Japanese people do the multiplication in a different way? They actually have the same method of multiplying numbers. Somehow, it is called as visual multiplication of lines.
Actually, the way they multiply sees to be very different and unique compared to how we did multiplication of numbers. You would actually think that at some point, you need a proof to prove it’s right.
