When I first saw these images, I thought they were just photographs of celebrities that the artist needs to reproduce either by painting or drawing. But I was totally wrong. They’re actually artwork themselves.
Heather Rooney, a 20 year old college student majoring in Art, just got an amazing talent. The self-taught portrait artist creates a photorealistic portraits using only Prismacolor colored pencils. Her works are so lifelike, you can never easily tell if it’s real or not – not even when you compare it to the actual photo.
Heather Rooney is starting to make a name for herself online with her hyper-realistic sketches. The young artist’s drawings, most of which are celebrity portraits, brought her online media attention. One of her pieces that rocked the internet was her drawing of the legendary ‘Oscar’s selfie’ (also included on the list below).
