Today, we present you a different story of boys in Afghanistan who are also known as the ‘dancing boys.’ The content may come explicit or unlikely to kids, but this story happens in reality.

Dancing boy: Shukur, 21 in this picture, was kidnapped in Kabul when he was 12 years old and taken to Kunduz where he was kept as a Bacha Bereesh - a dancing boy - for a rich and powerful man. He was 17 when he escaped, and began making a living from his dancing

We look into the depths. of the Afghan country to unravel this story that might surprise you too. Bacha bazi has been a tradition found across the country where boys were dressed as women and were taught to perform. Some are as young as ten are usually abused by the men and passed around after the parties.

Spreading across the Afghanistan, guest bidding follows after parties for a night with one of the boys. Behind the devout exterior, this country is holding a secret. In an Islamic country where s3x with women is forbidden before marriage, many men would look up to these ‘play boys’ for company.

While the government of Afghanistan tried to eradicate this dwelling, there are existing private gatherings that is still promoting this s3x slavery for s3xual gratification. One of the boys tell, that they are stolen from their family and made to be a ‘bacha bereesh.’ While some of them tried to escape even from before, only few managed to get out.

The bottom line of this reality is poverty which driven some people to raise a bacha bazi in the last 15 years. Predators have been very keen in choosing young boys on the streets even enticing their families with promises of education and fortune.

In some circles, it is prestigious to have your own boy as it is seen as a marker of your power and wealth. While the nationwide investigation about these boys continues, the practice remains ‘shameful.’
