Door-to-door sellers would knock at your door and eventually market whatever product they would want you to buy. One is enough for a day but, a lot of them would certainly irritate anyone else.
So instead of keeping it to yourself, you at least could think of some ideas how to get rid of them.
While other home owners would tie their dogs near their gate so no door-to-door sellers could instantly break in and eventually knock at their door, some even got some wiser ideas.
Door knocking is so last century indeed but, you might consider this to get rid of them. This may look funny but see the outcome.
