Five New Airbus Jets Conduct Spectacular Formation Flight

It’s common to see amazing air shows involving fighter jets but it’s not often to see commercial passenger airliners flying in formation. European aircraft makers Airbus recently released a spectacular video, featuring their new five A350 XWB (extra wide body) airplanes together in flight.

The video shows the preparations and the briefing before the airplanes took the skies last September 29, 2014 on Toulouse, France. The jets, worth US$3 billion, flies in diamond, echelon and arrow formations. If you want to see the actual formation of planes, start watching at three minutes. Check it out below.

Airbus has conducted this flight formation after achieving a certification from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These jetliners have accumulated a total of 2,600 flight test hours for EASA.
