These Hundreds Of People Gathered To Say Goodbye To Someone They Knew Was More Than A Friend. I’m In Tears.

Saying goodbye to someone you love and treasured the most is a difficult moment to handle especially when you can’t figure out what to feel since leaving them is an unacceptable fate for both of you. It’s terribly sad and nothing can ever comfort you but the person itself.

That’s what Sgt. Ryan Stark (police officer holding the USA flag) when he bid goodbye to his 3-year-old Belgian German shepherd and K-9 partner, Kye.

Like most police officers with a canine partner, Kye and Sgt. Ryan Stark worked together for justice for almost two years. But unlikely happened, as anyone can expect but not for him, Kye was killed in the line of duty when both of them were chasing a man who stole a car.

According to the news from KFOR, Kye was the first to catch up to him but he was stabbed several times by the suspect before Stark arrived. The officer then shot and killed Salazar. Stark has since been placed on administrative leave as an investigation into the shooting is underway.

After undergoing emergency surgery for his injuries, Kye died the day after the incident, the Associated Press reported. Kye was given full police funeral and more than 1,000 people as well of dozens of police dogs gathered to pay their respects and to say goodbye.

The service included full police honors and a 21-gun salute, honoring the bravery of the canine and police dogs and their owners traveled from across the state to attend Kye’s funeral.
