You’ll Feel So Uncomfortable With These 21 Ridiculous Laws Of America. Seriously?

Our world is ruled by rules- in any place where you’re at right now, there are certain things that are well, forbidden. I don’t think one country can continue ruling their nation if there’s no law exists, maybe that’s why each countries are distinguished by their own system and regulations.

And most of these regulations are deemed to be illegal which when you’re caught doing it, a punishment awaits you. But would you even believe that there laws in America which are too strange and crazy to even hear?

New York-based photographer Olivia Locher, who knows some of these laws, intended to defy rules and regulations across all the remaining US states, so she did her photography project entitled ‘I Fought The Law.’

In her series, Locher pokes fun at America‘s most unusual and obscure laws from centuries past to recent days. She said that she finds out about the laws from a variety of sources like reviewing law books, public records, and even talking to the residents who, know the most about local silly acts.

1. South Dakota-  unlawful to cause static.

2. Alabama- illegal to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at all times.

3. Washington- illegal to paint polka dots on the American flag.

4. Kansas- illegal to serve wine in teacups.

5. Oklahoma- illegal to make love with an automobile.

6. New Mexico- defacing rocks is a crime.

7. Maryland- hammering a nail into a tree is punishable by a fifty dollar fine.

8. Vermont- illegal to use colored margarine in restaurants unless the menu indicates you do.

9. Indiana- illegal for a man to be sexually aroused in public.

10. Florida- a person may not appear in public clothed in liquid latex.

11. New Jersey- a person can be arrested for slurping soup in public.

12. Nevada- illegal for men who have mustaches to kiss women.
