One of the most precious things we live and die for is happiness- we all want to be happy because obviously, it makes the world and also our inner world beautiful. Happiness, like they said, “is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself”, it’s not only that you make others happy, but you should also.
Be happy, simply because you need to. But to be happy is a something one must pursue- it just can’t take effect in a snap without the will of one’s body and mind. Like what Dalai Lama said, “Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” And one of those actions is to smile.
There are so many things you can find happiness, but there are just simple ones which are worth smiling for even just for a moment.
Surprisingly, it takes a 12 muscles to smile (4 Zygomaticus major and minor, 2 Orbicularis oculi, 2 Levator labii superioris, 2 Levator anguli oris, 2 Risorius) and 11 muscles to frown (2 Orbicularis oculi, 2 Platysma, 1 Orbicularis oris, 1 Mentalis, 3 Corrugator supercilii and procerus, 2 Depressor anguli oris), but both of them got the BIG difference.
Smiling is a sign of happiness, while frowning is a sign of despair. You looked old when you are prone to frown, but you looked younger when you smile as often as you could. So, find out where the joy resides and just be there.
