What This Fearless Couple Did Has Broken A World Record. And For Them, “Love Is Pain”…OUCH!

A couple from Ukraine haven’t had enough of their earrings. So on May 23, they decided to take piercing on to a higher level and claimed one of the world’s most bizarre records – the longest rope crossing using clamps pierced into their own backs.

Mariya Gafitsa, 23 and Pavlo Klets, 24, completed an eye-watering journey across the 550 meter wide Dnieper River in Ukraine’s capital, Kiev. Not only that they have broken a world record but most probably have beaten pain barriers.

The fearless couple had clamps attached and pierced under the skin on their backs.

Suspended by a cable wire with metal clamps pierced directly into the skin of their backs, they took on the painful crossing.

They each wore a back-up harness in case the weight caused the skin on their back to tear.

The pair successfully made it to the other side though their backs looked a little worse.
