If you want to experience adventures through Imaginary Worlds, a New Kingdom of Plant Giants, Atlanta Botanical Garden in the United States, will truly give you this opportunity, as the largest plant sculpture exhibition has just begun, starting today until October 31, 2014, featuring various and absolutely incredible giant living sculptures.
Since there are 28 living sculptures scattered in the garden, including the nine other characters that are already familiar, while strolling at Atlanta Botanical Garden along with your love ones and friends, you will surely amaze with the brand new characters added in the garden, which includes four frolicking frogs, three playful gorillas, and a pair of adorable orangutans.
On the other hand, the 25-foot-tall Earth Goddess, considered as the largest sculpture of them all and has become permanent part of the Garden’s collection, is made up of 18,000 annuals.
All of these incredible artworks were created in Canada by International Mosaiculture of Montreal, and if you’re thinking how these fabulous artworks formed, the Garden said, “Each sculpture is a living, sophisticated evolution of the traditional ‘stuffed topiary technique,” and added, “Thousands of meticulously groomed annuals are planted into soil-and-sphagnum moss filled netting covering the steel forms – hidden works of artisanship themselves – to carpet the skeletons in colorful patterns. Complex irrigation systems beneath the surface of the sculptures allow the plants to grow – and the creatures to flourish – in Atlanta’s summer heat.”
