The Word ‘Beauty’ For These Blind People Is Not What You Expected! It Just Made My Day!

What is beauty for you?

You might say that beauty can be define through outside appearance.. the color of someone’s eyes, hair, skin, the shape of body; but ‘beauty’ for blind persons is not like what we describe it.

“The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt with the heart…” this was once said by a renowned deaf-blind person Helen Keller, who despite of her disability, she continued to live life to its’ fullest and enjoy what she has.

Like Helen Keller, beauty for blind person is in life’s simplicity: being alive, love of family, everyday experiences, love of nature..

BuzzFeed invited members of the blind community to describe what beauty looks like to them, and their responses is not what you expected.

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it…” – Confucius
