Photography is such a fun hobby. Playing with the lenses of the camera can capture a perfect moment and produce a memorable work of art.
Bill Gekas, an Autralian-based photographer, is an avid fan of classic paintings done by many Old Masters including artists like Vemeer and Rembrandt.
With a strong desire to recreate their work through photography, he came up with an idea of using her five-year-old daughter as the model.
He was successful enough to make these photographs look like they were realistic paintings from a museum.
The design of clothes his daughter wears would make you think they were drawn hundred years ago.
Bill Gekas also uses artificial light which helps emphasize the so-called Rembrandt lighting effect.
This lighting effect according to Terry Lane of The Age is “characterized by strong window light falling on one side of the subject’s face and body, producing shadows amid a rich glow.”
But what’s more enchanting in these photos is the charming looks of his young daughter who poses comfortably in every shot.
Her innocence is so striking, it makes every photo as natural as it should be.
I’m sure Bill Gekas wasn’t having a hard time creating these wonderful pieces.
She seems to be smart enough to completely fit the time period without having any problem at all.
And what makes these photos more sensational is its impact to the viewers.
The dramatic effect brought out by their shared memories captured forever in these beautiful photos.
