As we featured recently the “42 Abandoned Places From Around The World,” where the car graveyard in Belgium is included, boredpanda has revealed the mysteries behind this one of the biggest car cemeteries in the world which was stuck in the forest for 70 years.
Though there are a lot of places in this world which was abandoned by the residents because of the sudden tragedies, this car graveyard in Belgium will surely stand out among the rest and will truly give you a goosebumps experience once you visit this particular area.
On the other hand, these are not only a spooky apocalyptic images that you have seen from “Walking Dead,” because according to an urban legend, “the abandoned cars were left behind by the US soldiers from the World War II, who could not ship them back to the US so they decided to hide them in a forest until they could come back and retrieve them.”
As an opposition to the statement given by urban legends, locals says that the car graveyard in Belgium were just simply and old car dump of vehicles made after the WWII.
Since there are four car graveyards in Chatillon with the whooping of 500 retro vehicles, based on the latest report most of the cars were stolen and removed by the locals due to environmental issues. The whole car graveyard was cleared in the year 2010.
