What You’re Looking At Isn’t A Real Bird.. YES.. And It’s Actually Made Of.. Paper?! Awesome!

Being creative can lead someone to make something out of his imagination, and creating pieces out of plain materials. Known to be the basic material of almost everyone, paper can turn into many creations (beside from being a ‘notebook’) such as in painting, sketches, sculptures, and also in crafts.

I once taught Kindergarten, and as a teacher, to practice my pupils’ eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills, every Wednesday which we dubbed as ‘Wacky Wednesday’, we used to work on Art subject, wherein we make crafts out of paper like boat, house, birds, box, caps, bags and many others that needs the help of recycled paper.

It’s fun and knowing that we’re using paper which is free, one can save a lot of money just to do some artworks or create one’s master piece. We all know the value of recycled papers, but only some of us knows how to reuse it. Finland-based artist and designer Diana Beltran Herrera make use of the papers she can still recycle.

With her bare hands and great patient, this Columbian artist sculpted accurate reproduction of birds through of course, with the use of paper. Herrera is currently working on an M.A. in fine art at UWE Bristol and whenever she pleases in her spare time, she creates paper birds.

Below are just some of her amazing sculptures of lifelike birds made out of paper.
