LOOK: Magical and Glow-in-the-Dark Stone Discovered In Australian Cave

It was in 2003 when scientists from Adelaide, Australia unearthed a glow-in-the-dark gem that looks like a hundred or maybe thousands of fireworks trapped in a glass.

The gem which was called Virgin Rainbow is actually an Opal- a transparent gem made from silica.

Its interior refracts light making it looks like a rainbow which exploded inside the stone. It also has the capacity to change in color depending on the light being refracted.

Opal also comes in an expensive price. The black Opal would cost as much as 15,000 Australian Dollars. However, it’s such a rare kind and difficult to unearth.
