The eight-division boxing champ, Manny Pacquiao has just started a fire between him and the LGBT (Lesbian ,Gay, Bis3xual, Transgender) community with his recent statement regarding his stand against same-s3x marriage.

The Sarangani Representative and now running for Senator made a statement after being asked during an interview on an election-related show in TV5 called Bilang Pilipino in the Philippines saying (translated),
“It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same gender? They are better because they can distinguish male from female. If men mate with men and women mate with women they are worse than animals.”
Manny Pacquiao, being influenced by his religious beliefs, firmly stands with what the Bible and its teachings say.
But, comparing humans with animals really started a noise and a bad impression to the Champ. Famous personalities, especially from the LGBT community like the Philippines’ most popular gay comedian today, Vice Ganda posted in Twitter,
The LGBT is a group of people. We are humans. But not animals. Though we're no saints we will pray for Manny Pacquiao.

Even Aiza Seguerra, recently married to her girlfriend, called Manny “ignorant, bigoted hypocrite”. Aiza also posted a screenshot from her phone on Instagram saying, “You might have done our country proud but with your statement, you just showed the whole country why we shouldn’t vote for you.” She also calls on voters especially the LGBT to boycott Manny.

Now, Manny responded to all the comments about his statement with a picture of him with his wife, Jinky on Instagram with a verse from the Bible and his quote saying,
“I rather obey the Lord’s command than obeying the desires of the flesh. I’m not condemning anyone, but I’m just telling the truth of what the Bible says. The truth from the Bible is what changed me from my old ways.”

In all of these things, Manny recently posted a video on Facebook and Instagram,
“I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same-s3x marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you.”

Same-s3x marriage is not yet approved in the Philippines. This is still a big issue in the country today.
