Beachgoers Shocked When Waterspout Roared Ashore In Greater Recife, Brazil

Natural phenomena are unexpected to happen anywhere at any time. When a disaster occurs, it doesn’t choose the ‘right’ place and we can do nothing about it but to mind over our safety.

Recently on March 1, beachgoers at Candeias Beach in Jaboatao dos Guararapes, Brazil were shocked when a quick-moving waterspout roared ashore. Watch the video footage of the said incident:

Almost everyone on the beach hurriedly run for safety since the waterspout is too frightening. Luckily, only few of them were battered by the waterspout. Terrible!

According to weather.com meteorologist Chrissy Warrilow, “many waterspouts develop in a similar manner as tornadoes, in which a severe thunderstorm develops over water and produces a funnel that connects between the water and the base of the cloud.”
