Wartan dubbed his pizza place ‘Rosa’s’, which means ‘a slice of pizza’ and the best thing about it is the very affordable price- $1 ONLY for a single size!
Aside from giving the slice of pizza for only $1, Wartman also help homeless people by giving them a slice of pizza for free through posting a note off the wall.
Customers can also give to the homeless by purchasing a little rosa. It’s just like a donation; so, when someone donates $20, any homeless man can actually have a meal for 20 days.
Homeless people were so grateful of Wartman’s concept and are teary-eyed whenever they eat in his restaurant. It’s not just only the donation of the generous people, but also the warm welcome of the staff in Rosa’s.
Just by looking at this wall, you could be able to tell that Rosa’s can move mountains, changing lives of needy people.
Even other businesses helps Rosa’s feed the homeless by ordering pizza for a party and then doubled the order, leaving the other 200 slices for the homeless.
3M also donated money and post-it notes for Rosa’s can keep their goal going forward.
Not just only that. Mason also wanted to expand the generosity to clothing and education for the homeless. You can purchase clothing on their website. For every t-shirt you purchase (which is only $14, by the way), seven slices of pizza will be given to the homeless. For every sweater you buy, a matching sweater will be given to a homeless person to keep him or her warm as the weather gets colder and colder.
The quote on the shirt says”Ask me to take my shirt off. I’ll show you how to help the homeless.” The reason for this funny slogan is because on the inside of the shirt, a tag is sewn in with a schedule to show homeless people where and when they can find food and computer classes. The hope is that with education, they can be empowered to change their circumstances.
