Kahlil Gibran once said that “we are the sons and daughters of life who are longing for itself and we don’t belong to our parents”; honestly speaking, I hardly and halfly believe in it. It’s true to think since only God owns us, but our parents also have the right to claim us. Without them, we are absolutely nothing.
Anyone can attest (though some got issues) that our parents are the best gift we have in life. From the time we came here in this world, they’re the ones who love us unconditionally and taught us to be gentler with life’s bringing. But we can’t avoid the reality that there are some of us here in this room who aren’t ‘lucky’ with their parents.
You may tell that I’m getting pessimistic but it’s true. There are ones who are happy with the life their parents had and there are some who wish they can just run away. But Korean guy named Kim Jung Hoon isn’t like those people.
Kim Jung Hoon’s parents are deaf, but instead of leaving them, he loves them more than himself. Apparently, his parents can’t tell what they really felt inside since they can’t talk to Kim verbally. What’s even sadder is they are both suffering from cancer. :'(
And that made Jung Hoon strives hard for them, and decided to audition on Super Star K.
Jung Hoon’s inspiration mainly came from his beloved parents and he know that though they didn’t know if Jung Hoon sings really well, they believed he can make it. They believe that he can survive anything along with their love.
