NOTHING can ever describe how hard it is for special children to live a normal life. Basically, it’s but a tough road almost everyone experiences especially for those parents who want nothing but for their kids to enjoy life. But every single day is a battle nobody can ever tell, even me. We may say that it’s easy to deal with, but we’re wrong. We are all wrong.
The challenges faced by most parents with special kids are widely different from everyone else- endless understanding, patience, care and love that some aren’t aware of and misjudged.
Like most families with this situation, the Hickey family had it too. Grant and Linda Hickey had a son named Jonny who is diagnosed with autism. Of course, they needed some miracle to happen for Jonny to live his life fully without any worries. Any doctors, therapist or special education would recommend them to love Jonny unconditionally; but somebody came willing to love him more and changed Jonny’s life.
The Hickey family was blessed with a miracle in the presence of an abused dog named Xena, who was rescued by ASPCA. There are thousands of people wanted to adopt Xena but only Hickeys were given the chance to change his life. But unknown to them, it was their life who was changed- the life of their son who needed a great miracle. As for the most awesome record, Xena was awarded as the ASPCA Dog of the Year. He deserved it!
