During the second round of the Tour Championship, the Northern Irish golfer’s tee-shot on the 14th hole accidentally sailed away on a tree and landed at the spectator’s pocket. The ball rattled first on a tree before it finally landed down straight to a man’s pocket.
The guy remained where the ball exactly landed on him before the game officials and Rory McIlroy approached him. After a short conversation, one of the officials dropped the ball were his pocket caught it as Rory McIlroy’s spot for his next tee shot.
Although the spectator wasn’t able to get the ball as remembrance, he was still honored because he got the chance to shake hands with the world’s number one player.
