One of the arts that are often found on a human body is a tattoo. A tattoo is a form of body modification that is made by inserting indelible ink to our skin. We say that it can destroy our skin since it is only good when we are still young. But every man who has a tattoo on their bodies has different reasons why they have it.
Other tattoos can really be disturbing and distracting in our eyes, but there are tattoos that really goods. I thought that these tattoos were just ordinary because it is not even attractive or realistic compared with the new 3D tattoos nowadays.
If you know someone who has this tattoos, you might wonder why they have it. I have never expected that these prison tattoos have meaning!
1. “1488” that is found on the tattoos of white supremacist/nazi inmates. 14 represents 14 words “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children” and the 88 is shorthand for the 8th letter of the alphabet twice, HH meaning Heil Hitler.
2. “The Cobweb” is so popular nowadays but it is actually a prison tattoo, which means people who get this symbolizes a lengthy term in prison.
3. “Teardrop” represents long prison sentence, and in other places it represents that you committed a murder.
4. “The Five-Point Crown” prison tattoo is a symbol of the Latin Kings gang.
5. “Three Dots” is a very common prison tattoo that symbolizes “mi vida loca” which means “my crazy life”.
6. “Five Dots” known as the quincunx, it represents time done in prison. Four dots outside represent the walls in prison, and the dot inside represent the prisoner.
7. “The Clock With No Hands” means “Doing time” or represents a long prison sentence.
8. “Playing Cards”, in Russian prison the spade symbolizes a thief, while clubs symbolize criminals in general, the diamonds are reserved for stoolpigeons and informants and the heart symbol represents someone who is looking for a romantic partner in the prison.
9. “Cross On The Chest”, In Russian prison system, a tattoo on the chest symbolizes “Prince of Thieves”, it is the Highest rank a Russian convict can achieve.
