Unique, varied and brilliant ideas from people around the world never seems to stop them to invent or create different kinds of objects which are usable and worthy of money.
There’s been so countless creations ever created and most inventions which I believed are furniture- rare and cool like the 23 chairs I featured before. UK artist Gigi Barker also won’t let herself be rejected from the world of designers and so she created a line of furniture made to look, feel and smell like human skin.
Yes. But Barker’s chair furniture is not actually made from skin (unlike from what you’re thinking) and just been infused with human pheromones and aftershave. Barker tells WIRED that some of her art’s most enthusiastic fans are youngsters.
“Children have been one of the most interesting demographics in relation to the work,” Barker said. “Without any of the hang ups we later develop, they are free to truly explore and interact with the work. Work regarding the human body is very personal and we all have a very immediate reaction to it so the reactions have reflected this.”
Like her creations, think twice because it costs more than you think. The stool alone costs about $775 and the skin chair will run you close to $2,550, according to WIRED.
