As “selfie” is becoming an addiction, nature seems to have its word against this kind of self-portrait photograph when a bolt of lighting almost struck a young couple about to take a romantic selfie photo.
Luis Morales Fukutake were on a holiday enjoying a swim and snorkeling at Yal-Ku Lagoon in Akumal, Quintana Roo while the storm is raging near Cancun in Mexico. Lifeguards have asked them to leave the water because of the danger the approaching thunderstorm may bring, but not before they take this one last shot.
As the happy couple posed for a picture perfect selfie, their “what seemed to be” perfect tropical background was ruined by a powerful struck of nature’s force – it was some kind of a flash they were not expecting. The pair was knocked off into the water.
Luckily, none of them were hurt by the lightning which hit the trees a few meters behind them. But the blast surely did destroy the couple’s romantic and picture-perfect moment.
The unbelievable footage was then uploaded to YouTube by Luis on Thursday. To date, the video has already been viewed more than 1.5 million times but also gained some negative comments questioning its authenticity.
