It’s obvious that we’re now on digital age and people are now known to be ‘techies’- I think almost 90% of the World’s population nowadays got electronic gadgets like cellphone, iPad, iPhone, tablet, digital camera, laptop, computers, etc. Who would have thought that technology successively influenced us?
Ever heard of the popular and addictive trend of photography which dubbed as ‘selfie’? I’m sure you knew and does it, like everyone else’s do including me. Selfie, or commonly known as self-portrait photograph, if you don’t know, (accdg to Wikipedia) became faddy when MySpace had this very well-known ‘MySpace pic’ which is an amateurish, flash-blinded self-portrait, often taken in front of a bathroom mirror. Later on, different SNS (Social Networking Sites) followed and the ‘selfie’ craze began.
Because more people find it crowd-pleasing, everyone seems to love it, improving it more and would even dare to take selfie in some unusual situations. It’s quite an adventure, most especially to Instagrammer Mirrorsme.
A Norwegian native and currently residing in Washington, DC, Instagrammer Mirrorsme loves to doodle and also to take selfies. But apart from taking selfies, hers are very different because she loves to take it with her drawings in the mirror in her bathroom, and most of her drawings are of cartoon characters and funny illustrations that are very entertaining to look at.
In an interview Mirrorsme had, she said that she started creating her cool art after she drew her mirror with lipstick, and leave little messages for her roommate. “I make them out of chalk markers, and posca markers, and some acrylic markers sometimes. I bought my last markers in New York, and the sales person just couldn’t understand why I needed all those acrylic markers to draw on mirrors”, she said.
“Normally, it takes less than 30 min to draw, but I can really get lost in the process and enjoy it”, Mirrorsme added.
