5. Hashima Island is one among 505 uninhabited islands in Nagasaki Prefecture. The island’s most notable features are the abandoned and undisturbed concrete apartment buildings and the surrounding sea wall.

4. Alcatraz Island is located in San Francisco Bay. It is 1.5 miles offshore from San Francisco, California. This island is often called as “The Rock”, it became a national recreation area and received designation as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.

3. North Sentinel Island lies some 20 miles west of Smith Island in the Bay of Bengal. Most of the island is forested. It is small, located away from the main settlements on Great Andaman. It is surrounded by coral reefs, and lacks natural harbors.

2. Snake Island is originally called Ilha de Queimada Grande. It is a 430,000-square-meter island coast of the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is home to a species “fer-de-lance” or called the Golden Lancehead Viper which is one of the most venomous snakes in the world!

1. Easter Island is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian Traingle. It was named Easter Island by the first European Visitor during Easter Sunday, April 5, 1722.
