These People Chose To Live Alone In The Wilderness Rather Than Stay In A Built-Up. This Will Intrigued You.

Living alone, as everyone says, is like living in such hell- you got no one to talk to and no one to love, leaving you prone to anxiety and depression. Despite of the belief ‘no man is an island’, there are still people who chose to live by oneself who don’t expect any help from others.

They believe in the maxim that being alone springs forth and means that they’re strong to handle things all by themselves. We all want to stay close but some don’t want to and chose to stay behind.

To keep records of these people with solitary life, Russian photographer Danila Tkachenko looked for them and traveled through Russia and Ukraine, far away from any city or village.

He entitled his photography project ‘Escape’ which raises questions about what identity truly means when we are forced to live how society tells us to:

“School, work, family – once in this cycle, you are a prisoner of your own position. You should be pragmatic and strong, or become an outcast or a lunatic. How to remain yourself in the midst of this?”
