This Elephant Was Held In Chains, Beaten, And Abused For Almost 50 Years.. And On The Day He Was Released, Joy Overflowed.. And He Cried!

God perfectly created us to be like Him.. perfectly good enough not to judge, ridicule and harm other mankind and other creatures. But there are some wicked and harsh people who find pleasure in inflicting pain to others- people who love to see somebody suffer from harm and pain. We cannot avoid them, and often that we can do is help others and get some help for ourselves.

Cruelty has been in our World even before you were born. There has been countless accounts of people in the early years who suffered from torture, merciless toil and bloody execution. Cruelty that we CANNOT stand, and so we do things to make these things right knowing we have our rights us humans. But we aren’t only the subject of cruelty, animals are too; and the most distressing fact about animals being beaten is that they can’t be able to speak for their right.

Meet Raju… one of the majestic elephants in India surviving his plight in this World.

But unlike any elephants, Raju was help in chains, and was tied up by his ‘owner’.

Every day, Raju lives in such a hell.. forced to hold out his trunk and beg for few coins from strangers.. surviving only on plastic and paper for food.

He suffered from intolerable cruelty.. and like humans Raju want his freedom too.. Until one day, on the very late midnight celebration on American Independence Day..

Many came from North London charity Wildlife SOS team to save Raju and end his suffering..

Wildlife SOS vet Dr Yaduraj Khadpekar tries to free Raju from the chains which he was kept in for 50 years.. And according to the Wildlife SOS founder Kartick Satyanarayan, the chains around Raju’s legs had spikes which were cutting into his flesh – and each time he moved puss would ooze out of wounds.. Pain and brutality were all Raju knew.

“The team were astounded to see tears roll down his face during the rescue. It was so incredibly emotional for all of us. We knew in our hearts he realized he was being freed”, Satyanarayan said.

At the daylight, Raju was then loaded into an open-top lorry, given additional sedation and escorted 350 miles to the charity’s Elephant Conservation and Care Centre at Mathura, India.

The charity has now launched a campaign to raise £10,000 for Raju to help begin the start of Raju’s new life..

Now, Raju is being taken cared of, received emergency medical attention to his wounds as well as a bath and food, and everyone in the charity cared for him..
