To achieve an environmentally friendly work of art, one artist would deal on using some kind of ‘trash’ to incorporate with their masterpiece. It would be unusual, but for naturalists artists, it’s a perfect choice, most especially when they’re trying to protect the nature.
Meet a student of embroidery Hillary Fayle. Well, she’s not just an ordinary student. Because she’s an artist too, but instead of working her talent into widely used materials, she preferred to use leaves. With her embroidery, Fayle gathered some leaves, coated each of non-toxic preservative that stiffens and protects it up, cut it and embroidered it with exquisite and decorative patterns. Meanwhile, she also creates leaf cutting designs.
When asked why she chose to deal with leaves, “I generally try to use renewable, sustainable and environmentally friendly materials for my art, so this was an obvious choice,” she explained.
