Chile’s Atacama Desert Insanely Deluged With Deadly Floods

Mother Earth is beautiful, but sometimes, it is crazy; not because of its structure, but because of certain undesirable things happening wherein earthlings, may it be humans or not gets into big trouble like losing homes, and unfortunately, lives.

Recently, freaky thunderstorms and flash floods devastated one of the driest places on Earth, the Atacama Desert, causing the Copiapo River to break its banks and flooded the Atacama region mercilessly. Watch the crazy footage of the said flood below.

According to a report from RT America, about 2,700 people are currently being housed in emergency accommodation, with around 30,000 people affected by the disaster, and at least 25 people were killed and 125 others are still missing. This occurrence was described by the authorities as “the worst rain disaster to fall on the north [of Chile] in 80 years.”
