400 feet underground is this unique yet interesting theme park that is now drawing thousands of visitors. With a mini golf, pool, underground lake and even Ferris wheel among the various activities, one will surely enjoy spending a day here.

The 2000-year-old Salina Turda salt mine in Transylvania has been used as a theme park and museum since 1992.

However, behind its interesting nature is a story of centuries-old salt mine which used to be a WW2 bomb shelter. Interestingly, it was transformed into a theme park with lots of activities one can involve to.

Attractions include ferris wheels, spas, and an 80-seat amphitheater, as well as bowling and mini-golf facilities.

The mine originally closed in 1932. Before being turned into a theme park, it served as a shelter during World War II, and as a cheese storage site.

Deep in the countryside, this well-architecturally designed park goes well with the extravagant size of the old mine fitting perfectly in its mouth. Salina Turda is now becoming an unlikely tourist attraction which fascinates visitors with the submerged wonderland.

With its sheer scale, it is a challenge to go deep into the park but would be all worth it once one experiences the different offerings in the theme park. What do you think of this? Don’t miss our updates. For some more of our latest stories and videos, just visit our website more often.
