Dipping in to the pool and swimming through the clear waters is such a refreshing experience and a great accomplishment for first timers. But that’s nothing compare to going into the deep end of Nemo 33; the deepest swimming pool in the entire world. Now, would you dare to dive in?
Nemo 33 is located in Brussels, Belgium and a huge attraction for diver enthusiasts all over the world.
At a maximum depth of 34.5 meters (113 ft), the multi-level swimming pool is filled with 2,500,000 liters (660 gallons) of chlorine-free, potable spring water.
The non-chlorinated, filtered spring water is kept at a temperature of 30C (86F) to make your swimming adventure comfortable.
But its most prominent feature is its 33 meter (108 ft) deep sinkhole.
And the several underwater caves at 10 meters (33 ft) deep.
There are also two pressurized room which give divers more time to reach the bottom.
And for those who don’t want to get wet, fourteen underwater windows are provided allowing outside visitors to explore all the underwater action.
This idea was developed by John Beernaerts who thought of a super-deep indoor diving facility in 2001. With the inspiration of favorite diving locales in his home country of Bora Bora, he spent three years probing 21 potential designs. And in 2004, Nemo 33 was finally opened as a multi-purpose instructional, recreational, and film production facility.
