Though we can’t take off our desire to go in different places and have already traveled great lengths of Earth, there are still some spots of world we never taken ourselves into- places that are unknown to what we believe, amazingly exists right before us.
These places are considered pristine and are now remote because there are very far off from the normal area of civilization.
One of those distant places is the archipelago of Vestmannaeyjar which can be found in the southern coast of Iceland which lies a beautiful island called Ellidaey.
Obviously, just by looking, Ellidaey Island is beautiful and its beauty adds up to its solitude and mysterious appearance. But unknown for many of us, there is something hidden on its surface.
There lies a house which was inhabited roughly three hundred years ago by five families that subsisted by fishing, hunting puffins, and raising cattle. By the 1930s, however, the last permanent inhabitants had left.
Some speculated that the island had been donated to famous Icelandic singer Bjork (which it wasn’t), while others thought it was home to an eccentric billionaire (which it wasn’t).
The pedestrian truth is that the cabin is a shelter and sauna for a local hunting association, which uses the cabin to hunt puffins on the island.
