Have you ever wondered how our language and choice of words can greatly affect the things that are happening around us? This video will show us the power of our words to make a huge difference.
In this clip, a beggar was seen sitting along the street waiting for people to come and drop some coins into his bucket. He was hoping that his sign which reads, “I am blind” would touch the hearts of every person who passes and sees it. But it looks like nobody seemed to care that he’s blind.
Then a stranger came in, grabbed a pen, took the beggar’s sign and changed it into something which says, “It’s a beautiful day, and I can’t see it.” – a more empathetic statement which allows people to really feel the blind man’s pain.
After the change was made, the beggar’s luck increased and money started pouring in. When the woman returned, he asked her what she did to his sign. The woman then answered, “I wrote the same, but in different words.”
This short film is a simple illustration of how our words can affect the way we see things and change the way we look at life.
