Balangiga Encounter Monument
The Balangiga massacre, was an incident in 1901 during the Philippine-American War where 2000 – 3000 Filipino civilians were executed by American soldiers after more than forty American soldiers were killed in a surprise attack by several hundred townspeople allegedly augmented by guerrillas in the town of Balangiga on Samar island.
