These Monuments Aren’t From Other Planet Like What You’re Thinking Right Now. But Look, They’re Meaningfully Amazing.

History has a lot of great stories to tell if he got a mouth and breathing like us humans. Over billions of years, there are various, countless and strange things happened on Earth that we unluckily never experienced. Somehow, despite of it, we’re a bunch of lucky creatures because we just escaped what has happened before that is too horrifying to deal with.

One of those is war, endless accounts of it. The tragedy, turmoil, chaos, pain, unmerciful death and the full darkness it brought to our mankind has not been erased from our minds and hearts and can NEVER be replaced of what’s future is giving us.

If there would be one thing aside from pain which is left from war, that would be the monuments which are built and dwellings of different soldiers who participated on the war before.

Many historians has keep the record of these events by the help of some photographers like Belgium photographer Jan Kempenaers. Kempenaers is recently exploring the depths brought by the WWII through the monuments that were built in the late 1960s and 70s.

These monuments are actually called Spomeniks which are striking sculptures of angular geometry echoing the shapes of flowers, crystals, and macro-views of viruses or DNA, and these reflect an abstract style that purposely avoided any resemblance to a specific people group, and honored Soviet war heroes universally.

But today, these monuments are now forgotten by many of us.
