Every morning, a person needs to eat a really healthy full breakfast. Among the most cooked breakfast foods are eggs. Not only that eggs are really nutritious, they are also so easy to prepare. One can just boil it, scramble and fry it, your meal is done!

But, health experts have been warning people to control their consumption of eggs. This is because of the high amounts of dietary cholesterol present in the yolk. But, it is still unclear on how much egg is the limit per day.

Eggs contain about 186 milligrams of cholesterol. Comparing it to the 300-milligram limit cholesterol consumption, you can really say that it’s nearing the limit.

But, according to the Scientific Report of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, “dietary cholesterol isn’t a nutrient at risk of over-consumption.”

According to the article published in the British Medical Journal in 2013, “in healthy people, eating as much as one egg per day doesn’t increase the risk of heart disease or stroke.”

Also, cholesterol is often perceived as a “NEGATIVE” word for many.

But, the truth is, cholesterol is one essential part of the body. Hormones like testosterone, cortisol, and estrogen are being made using cholesterol.

But of course, having too much cholesterol could be bad for us.

There is a study that is made to know how the number of eggs consumed can affect health and cholesterol levels.

This is the result of the study:

• In almost all cases, HDL (the “good”) cholesterol goes up.
• Eating Omega-3 enriched eggs can lower blood triglycerides, another important risk factor.
• Total and LDL cholesterol levels usually don’t change, but sometimes they increase slightly.
• Blood levels of carotenoid antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthine increase significantly.

That only shows that eating up to 3 whole eggs a day is just safe for healthy people who wanted to stay healthy.

Now, we cannot still say the real number of the limit in eating eggs. But, what’s the best we can do is to choose the right kind of eggs that we’ll be eating. Omega-3 enriched eggs are said to be healthiest. They are good for the heart. These kind of eggs are from hens that have been raised in pastures, not on those fed with grain-based feeds from factories.

It’s really good to be healthy! But, be sure to be safe on everything you’re eating.
