The summer season is fast approaching. It’s time for time in the beach or in other places to enjoy together with family, friends, and loved ones. We always wanted that our vacation would be as smooth as possible that’s why we prepare things ahead of time.

But, we just can’t always achieve this. During the summer season, the excessive heat of the sun and the dusty wind can cause the dryness of our eyes.

Now, what’s the big deal about having dry eyes? Here’s why. People having dry eyes may experience “irritated, gritty, scratchy or burning eyes”. Medical conditions – People having diabet3s, rheumatoid arthritis, and thyroid problems are more prone having dry eyes. Problems like the inflammation of the eyelids, the surfaces of the eye, or the inward or outward turning of eyelids can possibly cause dry eyes to develop.

Environmental conditions. People exposed to dry climates, smoke, and wind can make tears evaporate faster resulting in symptoms of dry eyes. Not enough blinking while fronting a computer can also make the eyes dry.

Other factors. Using of contact lenses for a long time can lead in the development of dry eyes. “Refractive eye surgeries, such as LASIK, can also contribute to the dryness of the eyes.


 

Here are the NATURAL remedies one can do to avoid or cure Dry eyes.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids. A study from of Harvard University found out that consuming foods having Omega-3 Fatty Acid can provide protection against drying of the eyes. Omega-3 can be found in tuna, salmon, and walnuts.

Chamomile Tea. Try soaking cotton balls in cold chamomile tea then place on your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. Do this for 3-4 times a day to prevent the eyes from drying.

Fennel. Boil some fennel then soak a cotton cloth in it. Put the cloth on your eyes. In a few minutes, you’ll experience relief. Do this in a regular basis.

Flaxseed Oil. Try applying flaxseed around the eyes. Just be careful not to get the oil in your eyes.

Paprika. Consuming paprika added in your dishes will benefit you because of the Vitamin A contained in it.
