A Mom experienced something negative about sippy cups.
A Mom named Simon O’Kanada wondered why her son, kept on complaining about stomach aches for weeks. She just can’t figure out why this is happening to the child. With his curiosity, Simon finally found out the reason why this is happening and it’s a little horrifying.
She found out that the source of his son’s stomach problems was due to the anti-leak located on his son’s “Tommee Tippee” sippy cup. Simon tried breaking the anti-leakage feature. After breaking the valve with a knife, she discovered disgusting mold build-ups inside.
Simon traced the source of the foul smell going to the sealed anti-leak feature of the cup. After seeing the thing, she just can’t believe that his son had been drinking this filth for so long.
It seemed to be okay and clean in the outside, but seeing the inside will surely shock every parent!
Many people aren’t aware of this thing and Tommee Tippee is not the only company that sells products like these in the world.
The Effects of Sipping Molds
When someone ingests mold, especially little ones, it can cause a series of mild to serious health issues that includes stuffy noses, coughing, sore throats, and severe eye and skin irritations. Other parents reported that some children also experienced diarrhea, vomiting, and other stomach problems.
According to Tommee Tippee, the company isn’t to blame entirely because using and cleaning instructions are already given.
“The results support that when used with recommended liquids… there are no problems. Difficulties have arisen though when liquids that are not recommended for use in the cups have been used, like thick formula milk, pulpy juice, and warm liquids.”
The company also released a diagram of the instructions on how to clean the sippy cups.
So parents, be careful on the products you use for your children.
