There are things that exist on earth that are too bizarre to explain yet awesome to know that they exist. We have known them in the faces of animals we have encountered before and also in us humans, but seldom have we encountered them in some plants growing around us.
One instance would be mysterious trees growing so immensely in some forest around the world. There are some which have strange fruits and some have different appearance like this tree you are about to see.
At first glance, it looks like an ordinary tree, but when you look closer, you can see thousands of coins hammered into the bark of the tree.
This mysterious tree is known as the money tree or wishing tree that was known to be part of the old custom in United Kingdom that whenever you find this tree, you have spare some of your change and make a wish when you hammer a coin into the tree’s bark.
It was believed that the tradition dated back from 18th century Scotland when florins were hammered into trees with a prayer to take away sickness. And up until now, the tradition is still on happening.
These money trees can be found in Cumbria in West England and Portmeirion, along the Afon Glaslyn River in Wales.
