All the participants on the study expressed “true” or “excited” smiles upon receiving flowers. They also showed amazing delight and appreciation. According to the study, this reaction occurred in all age groups.

The participants in the study also felt “less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.”

“What I find interesting is that, by starting the day in a more positive mood, you are likely to transfer those happier feelings to others – it’s what is called mood contagion,”
