You might have never heard of Simon Beck. But after reading this, you will surely never forget him or his wonderful wintry works of art. While some of us considers this seemingly eternal winter as a chilly burden, artist Simon Beck sees it as an opportunity; a chance to create amazing geometric designs in the snow.
At first, you’ll think that Simon is just tramping on the frozen terrain in his snowshoes.
But somehow, you will see that there seems to be a pattern to what he’s doing.
And when you take a look at it at a greater distance, you’ll be amazed by the incredible art this guy has created.
Simon walks over layers of fresh snow in special shoes to create his mind-boggling art.
Of course, it requires a lot of walking; Simon usually strolls for miles just to create one design.
And a more complex and intricate pattern could take him up to 10 hours of trecking to complete.
But the results are worth all of the effort and indeed, they are mesmerizing.
Usually, Simon chooses to use the French Alps as his canvas because of reliably snowy nature.
But the most interesting thing about this art, is the fact that Simon creates these breathtaking art knowing it could be gone the very next day.
These mathematical patterns he creates have different effects when viewed from different angles.
And as the day progresses, his creations take on new aspects.
Surely, Simon has taken walking in a winter wonderland to a whole new level…
And showed us that astounding beauty can come out of simplest things.
With some creative mind, hard work and dedication…
And of course, the perfect canvas…
Extraordinary things can be produced.
