Most fairy tale stories that we heard has a beautiful ending, because if it isn’t the best ending, it would be a total disappointments for kids to read. Oh! Disney! I’m pretty sure most of the characters Disney’s movies and stories have a pleasant ending- a happily ever after.
But have you always wonder what would happen if most of these Disney characters don’t have a lucky situation in life? If they have a disastrous fate? Animation storyboard artist Jeff Hong came up with the idea of projecting the “Unhappily Ever After” of Disney characters, exactly the same with the world’s unacceptable reality. Here’s the series he made, with a striking message:
1. Sebastian, The Little Mermaid.
Lobster trapping and eating is quite favorable to humans.
2. The Lost Boys, Peter Pan.
Would be considered homeless.
3. Mowgli, The Jungle Book.
Scavenging for food when you have no family to provide.
4. Pinocchio.
Lies, lies and more lies.
5. 101 Dalmations.
Every year thousands of animals are left abandoned.
6. Winnie The Pooh.
No more Hundred Acre Wood if we keep logging them all.
7. Belle, Beauty and the Beast.
Living up to society’s standards of beauty.
8. Remy, Ratatouille.
Animal testing for all your products.
9. Elsa, Frozen.
Our North is melting and the polar bears are being displaced.
10. Lightning McQueen, Cars.
Traffic for days.
11. Violet Parr, The Incredibles.
Depression, suicide and mental health are very prevalent in today’s society.
12. Bambi.
Bambi has a better chance of being mounted on your wall or in your belly than being your friend.
13. Chicken Little.
A franchise of horror.
14. Dumbo.
A circus that uses animals is no laughing matter.
15. Ariel, The Little Mermaid.
Oil spills destroying the oceans.
16. Tiana, The Princess and the Frog.
Racism.
17. Mulan.
The pollution problem.
18. Alice in Wonderland.
Drugs and addiction.
19. Simba, The Lion King.
Living in captivity.
